AWAMO Mascot
Dottie a two-year-old liver coloured Dalmatian is the current mascot of AWAMO.
Dottie replaced Venus a retired Explosive Detection Police dog as AWAMO mascot since her passing.
Venus was also the mascot for the Australian Army Veterinary Corps ceremonial troop in Qld.

Many people have seen Dalmatians running alongside Fire engines or Budweiser coaches, not many people may realise they served in many wars.
For example, Dalmatians were used during the Balkan Wars of 1912 and 1913, both World Wars as messenger, guard or red cross dogs.
Image: During the Second World War, the Dalmatian in the United States was one of four breeds used by the K-9 paramilitary corps. Along with representatives of other breeds, they successfully carried out guard duty, guarded military and civilian facilities, and served as patrol dogs. In 1943, the US 89th Infantry Division trained Dalmatians to deliver water, supplies, and essential medical supplies to the wounded.
