Australian Animal Aid | Ukraine Initiative
Animals are being devastatingly impacted by the ongoing conflict with Ukraine. We are working with our partners to get vital food, medication, and boots on the ground to help the animals of Ukraine.
Animals in Ukraine are being displaced as their owners flee the conflict zone into Poland at a staggering rate. Once owners arrive to safety beyond the conflict zones, food and medication are hard to find for the beloved animals that have accompanied them on their journey.
In addition to supporting those with animals who have arrived in Poland, AWAMO has also become aware of the horrifying strife of many animals that remain in Ukraine. Across Ukraine, animals in zoos and farms have been forced to be left behind and are starving and dying. To help save these animals affected by war, AWAMO will also be purchasing fodder and other fresh food and essentials that will be delivered directly to these areas, including the Bear Sanctuary in the southern region of Ukraine.
Donations directly support the Australian Animal Aid and work to help the animals of Ukraine. Funds are currently being used to transport both a shipping container to Poland and internal transportation throughout Ukraine. In addition, two AWAMO representatives will go to supervise the distribution of emergency food relief to the areas that are most in need.
